Dr. Dre is an american rapper, actor and producer with a net worth of $260 million. Born Andre Romelle Young, Dre was raised in South Central Los Angeles during the budding West coast hip-hop scene, Dre frequented nightclubs where he learned to DJ and became a member of electro-hop group World Class Wreckin’ Cru in 1984. After meeting fellow rapper Ice Cube, Dr. Dre joined rap project N.W.A. run by rapper Eazy-E under Ruthless Records and released Straight Outta Compton in 1988. Violent, profane and undeniably groundbreaking, Straight Outta Compton would go double platinum and go down in music history as one of the most pivotal albums for hip-hop.

Three years later, Dre left N.W.A. and co-founded Death Row Records, on which he debut his first solo album, The Chronic, which soared to number three on the Billboard 200, went multi-platinum less than a year after its release and earned Dr. Dre a Grammy for Best Rap Performance of single Let Me Ride. In 1996, Dre established Aftermath Entertainment where he produced and showcased numerous talents such as Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and 50 Cent. His talent extends to film, with Dre appearing in films like Set It Off and Training Day. He was commissioned by Monster Cable Products to design a line of premium headphones called Beats. Dr. Dre continues to produce and contribute his skills to the music industry while working on the release of his final album, Detox.
