Vanessa Hudgens has managed to do something that very few of the young starlets that emerged from the Disney machine have been able to do. She has, for the last few years, remained relatively low profile. After the "Mouse-house" stopped churning out "High School Musical" sequels, and after the mobile phone nude photo scandal died down, and after her relationship with co-star Zac Efron ended, Miss Hudgens seemed to go about the business of creating a lasting career with admirable focus. Like many other Disney stars, she released two moderately successful albums, but has largely focused on her acting career for the last three or four years. She is currently making headlines for both appearing in the family film "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island", and for filming the upcoming adventure comedy "Spring Breakers", with another Disney-alum, Selena Gomez. When the now 23-year old star is not shooting, or promoting, her next project, she retires to the home she purchased in 2008, just after the release of her second album, and the end of her involvement with the "High School Musical" franchise.
The $2.75 million, 5,200 square foot mansion houses six bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms. The three-storey home also includes a large living room that opens onto a terrace, a well-appointed kitchen, a winding staircase in the main entryway, an office space, a dining room, and a wine cellar. Hardwood floors and stone accents abound, along with wrought iron decoration and three fireplaces. The house also features a spacious backyard with pool, and gorgeous views of the nearby San Fernando Valley. It's a lot of house for one person, but Miss Hudgens is proving to be an uncommon young woman, who clearly has some very large ambitions.
