Early Life
Olivia Isabel Rodrigo was born on February 20, 2003 in Murrieta, California. She was raised in the town of Temecula. She is of Filipino descent on her father's side and German/Irish on her mother's side. Olivia's father is a family therapist and her mother is a school teacher.
Olivia began taking acting and vocal lessons when she was six years old and was soon appearing in local theater productions. She started taking guitar lessons at 12, influenced by her parents' love of alternative bands from the 1990s like Green Day, No Doubt and Pearl Jam.
Olivia soon began pursuing professional acting gigs, landing some modeling and commercial work. A notable early success was a commercial for Old Navy.
In 2015 she starred in the straight-to-video movie "An American Girl: Grace Stirs Up Succeeds." The movie would later be release on the Disney Channel and Netflix, though on the Netflix her name was misspelled in the credits as "Olivo Rodrigo."
Bizaardvark
In 2016, Olivia landed a main role part on the Disney channel series "Bizaardvark." She starred on the series alongside fellow future social media star, Jake Paul. Olivia starred on the series for its entire run, from 2016 to 2019.
Other Acting Work
In 2019, Olivia began starring on the Disney+ series "High School Musical: The Musical: The Series." Olivia wrote and performed the songs "Just for a Moment" and "All I Want" for the project's soundtrack.

Singing Career
In late 2020, Olivia signed a record deal with Interscope/Geffen Records. In a highly unusual move for a debut artists, Olivia was able to negotiate the right to own the masters of her music from the get-go.
She released a debut single, "Drivers License", on January 8, 2021. She co-wrote the song which quickly broke Spotify's record for most daily-streams for a non-holiday song. She broke the record TWICE. On January 11 it was streamed 15.7 million times and on January 12 it was streamed 17 million times, globally. The song is the first in Spotify history to reach 80 million streams in under one week.
The song debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the global charts in Norway, the UK, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Australia and Ireland.
On April 1, 2021 she released a second single "Deja Vu". This song debuted at #8 on Billboard. This ranking made Olivia the first artist in history whose first two releases debuted in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100.
Her full album "Sour" was released on May 21, 2021. The album would go on to spend five weeks topping the Billboard 200 chart winning her three Grammy Awards. Then the Disney+ documentary, "Olivia Rodrigo: Driving Home 2 U," released in 2022 showcasing her creative process on the album.
The lead single, "Vampire," from her second album, "Guts," was released in June 2023 and became her third single to debut atop the Billboard Hot 100. In August 2023, the second single, "Bad Idea Right?," reached the top 10 in the US and UK.

Songwriting
Olivia has co-written most of her songs with collaborator Dan Nigro. She has given other artists song-writing credits. For example, she ultimately gave Paramore members Hayley Williams and Josh Farro credit on the track "Good 4 U." She gave Taylor Swift credit on "1 Step Forward, 3 Steps Back."
