Bill Clinton, born William Jefferson Blythe 111 was the 4nd President of the United States from 1993 to 2001, with a net worth estimated at $200 million. He was born in Hope, Arkansas to William Jefferson Blythe Jr. and Virgina Dell Casidy. Sadly, Bill’s father died three months before he was born. His mother left to New Orleans for nursing school. She left young Bill with his grandparents Elridge and Edith Cassidy. His grandparents owned a small grocery store in the south. And even though racial tension was everywhere they still offered food on credit to all races. These were the values that Clinton was raised on. Upon his mother’s return to Arkansas she married Roger Clinton. At the age of fourteen Bill would take on the surname of Clinton to honour his step father.
In 1963 Clinton visited the White House to meet then President John F Kenedy as a Boys Nation Senator. It was this moment and Dr Martin Luthur King’s “I have a dream” speech that would inspire Clinton to want to be a public official. Clinton would go onto to attend Georgetown University in Washington, DC where he graduated with a bacheolar of Science in Forgein Services. While in college he interned for Senator J William Fulbright. After graduating he recieved a Rhoades Schorlship to University College, Oxford. From Oxford Clinton went to Yale Law School. It was here where he met fellow Law school student Hillary Rodham. The two we’re married on October 11th 1975. They would have their first and only daughter Chelsea in 1980.
Chelsea did not come before Clinton fully realized his political power. In 1976 he was elected Arkansas Attonrney General. He step up the game in 1978 when he became the youngest Governer in the country. With his main focus being on education and healthcare reform Clinton caught the eye of the nation. He was even looked upon to run for President in the 1988 election. Instead he pushed for Maschsactutets Govener Michael Dukakis.
By 1992 Clinton was ready to run. He was elected into office over the incumbent President George Hubert Bush. During his time in office he signed The Family and Medical Leave act of 1993, Brady Bill, and expanded the earned income tax credit. He left the White House with the highest approval rating(66%) with any President since World War 2. He now remains in the public eye with humantaritaion work and raising public awareness issues such as HIV/Aids and Global warming.
