Heidi Klum and Seal's Home: A $14 Million Symbol of a Formerly Solid Marriage

By on January 23, 2012 in ArticlesCelebrity Homes

Celebrity marriages come and go.  The strain of being in the spotlight, busy work schedules, and long periods apart, has felled many a Hollywood couple.  One such couple that seemed able to weather the storm, however, was that of supermodel Heidi Klum and award-winning musician, Seal.  Sadly, though their marriage and family life seemed rock solid, the two have recently announced that they are going to part company.  Just over a year ago, all seemed tranquil in paradise, as the two purchased a massive Los Angeles area mansion in the wealthy neighborhood of Brentwood.  They reportedly paid more for the property than its listed price, in fact, as there was a lengthy bidding war between multiple interested buyers.  At the time, the couple seemed excited about moving their four children into the palatial estate.

The eight bedroom, 12,300 square foot, $13.4 million home, is notable for the amount of living and closet space, as well as for a number of antique touches, including a fireplace from Scotland that dates back to the 17th century, and another fireplace that was reportedly part of Napoleon's home in France at one point.  The house was formerly owned by an investment banker and went on sale in June of 2010.  It will be interesting to see how the former couple divides their various properties and assets.  It may be that this gorgeous home, a symbol of an opulent family-life, will very soon be on the market once again.
