Middle School Teacher Freaks Out After Winning $1 Million On Wheel Of Fortune

In order to fend off fierce competition from other evening game shows, back in 2008 Wheel of Fortune introduced a $1 million prize. It's not easy to win. In the six years since the bonus was introduced, out of hundreds and hundreds of attempts, only two people have pulled it off. On Thursday, a third million prize winner was crowned.

Sarah Manchester is a middle school teacher in Takoma Park, Maryland. She is a huge fan of Wheel of Fortune. Not too long ago, she read in her local paper that Wheel was having tryouts not far away in Northern Virginia. Sarah decided to go for it. At the tryout, she sat on the ground and graded papers as other contestants' names were called. Incredibly, Sarah made it through the early test rounds and soon found herself in Los Angeles standing just a few feet from the real life Pat Sajak and Vannah White. This is how the show ended:
