He relocated to the United States in 2001, and continued performing under the name Pato. In 2010, he opened ARK Music Factory with fellow producer Clarence Jey. Their first major hit, was the catchy, but much reviled, "Friday", performed by Rebecca Black. In addition to his work with ARK, he also launched his own music label called PATO World Music. The label subsequently released the song "Chinese Food", which, like "Friday", has attracted a great deal of negative attention.
