Early Life

Freya Skye was born Freya Skye Jones on October 17, 2009, in Buckinghamshire, England. She is the daughter of Sarah and Mike Jones, and she began acting and singing when she was five years old. Freya attended Tring Park School for the Performing Arts.

Career

In 2021, Skye released her first single, "I Love the Way." In November 2022, it was announced that 13-year-old Freya had been chosen to represent the United Kingdom in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Armenia. She said of the news, "'I couldn't believe it when I found out. I was not expecting it at all, it still doesn't feel real that I'm going to be representing the UK. I feel so lucky to have been given the opportunity to be a part of something so exciting." Skye performed her song "Lose My Head" in the competition, and she won the online global vote and came in fifth overall. She later appeared in two BBC documentaries about her Eurovision experience and her career, and she took part in the London Eurovision Party 2023. Freya has lent her voice to the  English versions of the video games "Dragon Quest Treasures" (2022) and "Final Fantasy XVI" (2023). In 2024, she played an exaggerated version of herself on the Canadian series "The Next Step," and she released the singles "Winter Dream," "Someone to Love," "Walk Over," and "Who Says."

Skye made her film debut as Nova in the Disney musical "Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires" alongside Meg Donnelly, Milo Manheim, Kylee Russell, Chandler Kinney, and Malachi Barton. She also participated in "Descendants/Zombies: Worlds Collide Tour," a "one-of-a-kind interactive concert experience." Freya was featured on numerous songs on the "Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires" soundtrack, including "The Place to Be," "Don't Mess with Us," "My Own Way," and "Together as One." On the U.S. Billboard charts, the soundtrack reached #1 on the Kid Albums chart, #3 on the Top Soundtracks chart, #16 on the Independent Albums chart, and #90 on the Billboard 200 chart; it peaked at #5 on the UK Compilation Albums chart. In 2025, Skye also guest-starred in two episodes of the Disney Channel series "Wizards Beyond Waverly Place" and released the singles "Who I Thought I Knew," "Can't Fake It," and "Gold's Gone."

Personal Life

According to her bio on the Junior Eurovision Song Contest website, "In her spare time, Freya enjoys cuddling up with her dog Ruby and watching movies, teaching herself the piano, and following her favourite football team, Tottenham Hotspur. Cheese and ham toasted sandwiches rank highly amongst the things that make Freya happy."
