Early Life

Alexander Warren Hughes was born on September 18, 2000, in Carlsbad, California.

Warren's childhood was marked by considerable hardship. His father was diagnosed with kidney cancer and died when Alex was nine years old. Warren has credited his father with fostering his early interest in music, including buying him a guitar and introducing him to artists such as Coldplay, Linkin Park, and John Mayer.

Following his father's death, Warren's home life became increasingly unstable. His mother struggled with alcoholism, and Warren has described experiencing physical and emotional abuse. He was forced to leave home at 17 and spent a period effectively homeless, sleeping in friends' cars and wherever else he could find a place to stay.

Warren began filming videos and uploading content to YouTube while struggling financially. His future wife, Kouvr Annon, was with him during part of this period.

YouTube and the Hype House

Warren began making YouTube videos years before his music career. His early content included skateboarding videos before expanding into vlogs, comedy, challenges, and pranks.

His audience grew dramatically with the rise of TikTok. In 2019, Warren became one of the founders of the Hype House, a Los Angeles-based collective where young social media personalities lived and created content together.
