He got his first experience at the University of North Texas campus radio station KNTU. Dunham's son received a football scholarship for UNT in 2010.
George Dunham was the captain of the swim team at Carrolton R. L. Turner High School. He worked at KRLD as a sports reporter and is a two time finalist for National Market Personalities of the Year in the NAB Marconi Radio Awards. He also was the public address announcer for the Dallas Cowboys at Texas Stadium from 1999 to 2009 and did play-by-play for the Dallas Desperados of the Arena League.
