What Is Pete Davidson's Net Worth?

Pete Davidson is an American comedian, actor, writer, and producer who has a net worth of $8 million. Pete Davidson is best known for his work on "Saturday Night Live," joining the cast at the age of 20. Pete was a cast member on "SNL" for eight seasons, running from 2014 to 2022, and he hosted the show in October 2023. Pete is also known for dating many famous women, notably Ariana Grande, Cazzie David (Larry David's daughter), and Kim Kardashian. In 2020, a semi-autobiographical film titled "The King of Staten Island" was released. In addition to writing (alongside Judd Apatow), Pete also starred in the film. Davidson created, starred in, wrote, and executive produced the 2023 Peacock series "Bupkis."

Early Life

Pete Davidson was born Peter Michael Davidson on November 16, 1993, in Staten Island, New York. He is the son of Amy and Scott Matthew Davidson, and he has a younger sister named Casey.

Tragically, Scott died on 9/11 when Pete was seven years old. Scott was serving as a NYC firefighter and was last seen running into the Marriott Trade Center just before it collapsed. The loss was profoundly traumatic for Pete, who later exhibited his grief by acting out in school. He often found himself in trouble. Davidson later revealed that he struggled with suicidal thoughts, and the music of Kid Cudi saved his life. Pete graduated from Xaverian High School in 2012 and enrolled at St. Francis College but dropped out after one semester to pursue comedy.

Career

Davidson's first stand-up comedy gig was at age 16 at a Staten Island bowling alley. His earliest onscreen appearance was in "Failosophy," an MTV comedy series, in 2013. After that, he appeared on different reality programs until he landed his first televised stand-up performance on "Gotham Comedy Live," a Comedy Central program that showcased up-and-coming comedians. Pete subsequently made other stand-up appearances and had a brief stint on "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" before landing a spot on "Saturday Night Live" as a cast member. He had been given the chance to audition through his connection to Bill Hader, whom he met while filming a small role in 2015's "Trainwreck."

Davidson's first show was on "SNL's" 40th-season premiere, September 27, 2014. At the age of 20, Pete was one of the youngest cast members of all time, as well as the first cast member to be born in the '90s. His debut season's performance garnered critical acclaim, and Davidson is often praised for being relatable to audiences and for mocking sensitive and taboo subjects, even subjects that are dangerously close to his own life and emotions, like the 9/11 attacks. When the 44th season of "Saturday Night Live ended," "Washington Post" critics credited Davidson as the show's breakout star and the most memorable performer that season.

In April 2016, Pete filmed his first stand-up special for Comedy Central. In January 2019, Davidson announced that he would be touring with John Mulaney for a limited series of comedy shows titled "Sundays with Pete & John."

Davidson starred in the Peacock original series "Bupkis," which premiered in May 2023. He also made cameos in some recent movies, such as "Fast X" and "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3."

Pete Davidson "Saturday Night Live" Salary

During his time on "SNL," Davidson earned a peak salary of $15,000 per episode. Assuming he made at least one appearance on all 21 episodes per year, Pete most likely made around $315,000 per year from "SNL." The highest-paid cast members make $25,000 per episode, roughly $500,000 per year.

Personal Life

Pete dated comedian Carly Aquilino from 2014 to 2015 and Cazzie David from 2016 to 2018. He famously became engaged to Ariana Grande in the summer of 2018, but they called off the engagement by the fall of 2019. He also briefly was linked to actress Kate Beckinsale. From October 2021 to August 2022, Pete dated Kim Kardashian. From December 2022 to August 2023, Pete was in a relationship with his "Bodies Bodies Bodies" co-star Chase Sui Wonders.

Davidson suffers from Crohn's disease and has said he can't function without medical marijuana. He has been quoted as saying he would not be able to work on "SNL" without it; however, on March 6, 2017, he announced on Instagram that he had quit drug use and was sober for the first time in eight years. He later clarified on a podcast with Marc Maron that he still did occasionally use marijuana, although he had cut back considerably.

He was a vocal advocate and fan of Hilary Clinton in her 2016 presidential campaign, even going so far as to get a tattoo of her on his leg. Pete has over 40 tattoos, including one with his father's firefighting badge, 8418, on his left arm.

The New York Police Department conducted a wellness check on Davidson on December 15, 2018, after he shared an Instagram post expressing suicidal thoughts that sparked concern among his followers, friends, and former fiancee Grande. Pete was found safe at the "SNL" studios, and he only appeared on the show once that night, introducing a musical act.

Real Estate

In 2016, Pete bought his mother a $1.3 million home on Staten Island, NY.

In December 2020, Davidson bought himself a $1.2 million condo overlooking the water just a few blocks from his mother's house. He listed the condo for sale at $1.3 million in late 2022 after moving into a $30,000-per-month loft in Brooklyn. He dropped the price to $1.1 million in April 2023.
