Early Life

Jarno Leppälä was born on August 11, 1979, in Seinäjoki, Finland. He became known as Jarppi partly to distinguish him from fellow Dudeson Jarno Laasala.

Jarppi became friends with Laasala and Jukka Hildén while they were growing up in Seinäjoki. The three later met Hannu-Pekka "HP" Parviainen through their shared interest in snowboarding and other action sports.

During the 1990s, Laasala began filming the friends as they snowboarded, skateboarded, rode mountain bikes, played pranks, and attempted dangerous homemade stunts. He edited the footage into VHS tapes that the group sold and distributed locally.

Jarppi's comic reactions and willingness to become the target of the others' schemes quickly became an important part of the group's appeal.

The Dudesons

The friends received their first major television opportunity after Laasala began working as an editor at the Finnish cable channel MoonTV. Their first program, "Maailmankiertue," premiered in 2001 and became one of the network's most popular shows.

Jarppi appeared as a performer and writer as the group expanded from Finnish television into international markets. Their shows featured stunts involving vehicles, fire, explosives, freezing conditions, homemade ramps, demolished buildings, and elaborate practical jokes.

As the members grew older, they developed "Dudesons Home Invasion."
