Early Life

Mikki Lee Padilla was born on May 27, 1974, in Denver, Colorado. Her family moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico, when she was young, and she grew up there. Padilla was heavily involved in sports as a child, participating in basketball, baseball, volleyball, softball, swimming, and track and field.

Padilla attended the University of New Mexico, where she earned a degree in sociology. After college, she spent time in New York pursuing modeling and became one of Avon's top Latina models. She later moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting and writing.

Acting and Modeling Career

Padilla made her film debut in the 2001 movie "Seance." Over the next several years, she accumulated a collection of supporting and guest roles in film and television.

She appeared on "Malcolm in the Middle" in 2003 and played Leanne Roberts in a 2005 episode of "NCIS." Her film credits included "The Deviants," "Pool Party," and the 2007 Steven Seagal action movie "Urban Justice."

In 2008, Padilla appeared on "Two and a Half Men," starring Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer. Her later credits included the film "Dark Moon Rising" and an appearance on "The Young and the Restless" in 2015.

World Series of Blackjack

In 2006, Padilla appeared as a contestant during the third season of GSN's "World Series of Blackjack." At the time, she was described as an actress and writer from Los Angeles and a former Avon model. She competed in one of the tournament's preliminary rounds but did not advance.

The appearance became an interesting precursor to the job for which she would eventually become best known.

"Catch 21"

In 2008, Padilla was cast as the dealer and co-host of GSN's "Catch 21," working alongside Alfonso Ribeiro. The blackjack-inspired game show combined trivia questions with playing cards, with Padilla dealing the cards while also interacting with Ribeiro and the contestants.

"Catch 21" premiered in July 2008 and became a successful part of GSN's original programming lineup. Padilla remained with the show throughout its original run from 2008 to 2011. She also made appearances on "GSN Live" during this period.

GSN later revived "Catch 21" in 2019 with Ribeiro returning as host and "Dancing with the Stars" professional Witney Carson taking over the dealer role. Padilla was not part of the revival.

Writing and Later Career

Padilla published "Been There, Done That… now doing MORE!" in March 2013. The book focuses on personal motivation, persistence, and pursuing new goals.
