What is Elin Nordegren's Net Worth?

Elin Nordegren is a Swedish former nanny, model and the ex-wife of professional golfer Tiger Woods. Elin has a net worth of $200 million. After separating from Tiger Woods, Nordegren received a substantial sum as part of the divorce settlement. Her tumultuous marriage with the golfer was the subject of considerable attention from the media, and her name was frequently mentioned in various articles that chronicled the athlete's downward spiral. Despite stating that she is "still hurt" as a result of the failed relationship, she has moved on to other relationships.

Divorce Settlement

In the face of her humiliating situation, Nordegren had no choice but to divorce Tiger Woods. The entire world now knew that her husband had been unfaithful to her on more than 12 separate occasions (at the very least). Although Tiger stated that he was taking a break from professional golf to work on his marriage, these efforts were in vain. Elin wanted a divorce, and nothing was going to convince her otherwise.

The divorce was finalized by 2010. Elin's sister, a licensed legal professional, joined her side with a team of attorneys from McGuireWoods. Although initial reports stated that Nordegren was set to win a settlement of $750 million (which was even more than Tiger's net worth at the time), she walked away with a sum of $100 million, a sum that represented about 20% of Tiger's net worth. In addition, Elin won sole custody of the children, and Tiger's future or past girlfriends were banned from coming into contact with the kids.

Early Life

Elin Maria Pernilla Nordegren was born on January 1st of 1980 in Stockholm, Sweden. She was raised alongside a twin sister and a brother by a mother who is in politics, and a father who is a radio journalist. Elin was dedicated to her studies as a young student, and she also started working various odd jobs in order to fund her education. In 2000, Nordegren also started modeling in order to support herself. She once appeared on the cover of "Cafe Sport."

Moving to the United States

Elin Nordegren started to become more involved with the golfing community after she met Jesper and Mia Parnevik. Jesper is a professional golfer, and the couple met Elin while she was working at a clothing store in Stockholm. The couple later hired Nordegren as a nanny, and she moved with the family to the United States to work for them full-time.

Relationship with Tiger Woods

In 2001, the Parneviks introduced Elin Nordegren to Tiger Woods for the first time. Over the past year, Woods had asked repeatedly to be introduced to Nordegren, but she was already in a relationship with someone else. She was also focused on her long-term career goals, as she was planning to become a child psychologist (in 2014, Nordegren graduated with a degree in psychology from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida).

Jesper and Mia Parnevik later admitted that they regretted introducing Nordegren to Woods, as they "probably thought he was a better guy than he is." Woods dated Nordegren over the next few years, and in 2003 they became engaged after Tiger proposed at the Shamwari Game Reserve. In 2004, the couple was wed at the Shady Lane Resort in Barbados. Tiger rented out the entire complex, spending $2 million to ensure he and his new wife were completely undisturbed.

Decline of Marriage

The first controversy came in 2006 when nude photographs of Elin were published without her permission. That year, she filed a libel suit against the offending publication, winning a settlement of 125,000 euros. However, things were about to get much worse. Her marriage with Tiger was quickly falling apart, and Tiger's behavior became more and more erratic. Eventually, everything unraveled after he crashed his car near the family home while under the influence of drugs.

In the weeks that followed, Tiger admitted that he had been unfaithful to his wife over the course of their marriage. He stated that he had slept with over a dozen different women during his relationship with Elin, including two porn stars. He even slept with a waitress at a diner that the couple regularly frequented. While all of this was happening, Elin gave birth to his two children and devoted herself to raising them and being a good wife.

Real Estate

After her divorce from Woods, Nordegren immediately invested heavily in real estate, purchasing a mansion on North Palm Beach for $12 million. Elin had ambitious plans for the beachfront property. After explaining her ideas for renovations to architects, they informed her that it would be easier to simply demolish the mansion and start from scratch. She followed their advice, destroyed the 1920s home, and worked from a blank slate on the 1.4 acres of land.

Construction of her new home was completed in 2014, and the mansion now features 25,000 square feet of living space. Although the property takes cues from classic colonial homes one might find on the West Indies, there's also plenty of modern features. Above all else, there's a massive emphasis on the beautiful ocean views with large windows throughout the mansion. There's also an extensive pool and spa area in the yard, and special care was put into the design of the rooms for her children.

In 2018, Nordegren put the home on the market for $48.5 million. She ultimately sold the home in September 202o for $28 million. The buyer was Rockstar energy drink founder Russ Weiner.

After the Divorce

Although Elin Nordegren was understandably hurt and humiliated following the ordeal with her ex-husband, she eventually moved on. After initially sparking up a romance with Chris Cline (who later died in 2019), she started dating NFL player Jordan Cameron. She began her relationship with the athlete in 2019 and gave birth to his son later that year.

In recent years, Elin Nordegren has developed a more cordial and friendly relationship with Tiger Woods. She often spends time with him alongside their children and reportedly appreciates that he makes an effort to be a good father. Nonetheless, some rumors state that she still feels angry when she hears about his relationships with other women.

In 2018, it was reported that Nordegren was "months away" from completing her master's degree. She has stated that studying law and psychology has helped her deal with the various hardships she has had to face in her recent life.
