Born in 1974 in Toronto, Ontario, Daniel Negreanu learned how to play poker when he was a teenager and started frequenting pool halls by the time he was 16. He dropped out of high school to play at casinos and moved to Las Vegas when he was 22 years old. Shortly after, he was forced to return home when he lost his money to Sin City. He began playing poker tournaments in 1997 and has appeared at 36 World Series of Poker final tables. Negreanu was on "High Stakes Poker" for six seasons and "PokerStars Big Game" for two. He landed the role of spokesperson for online poker website Poker Mountain in 2005, where he played as KidPoker. He left the company after a software issue that eventually torpedoed the website.
