Victoria Ruffo was born on May 31, 1962 in Mexico City, Mexico. She has two sisters, Gabriela and Marcela, both of whom also work in show business.
Telenovelas
Ruffo began appearing in telenovelas in 1980. That year, she had supporting roles in "Conflictos de un médico" and "Al rojo vivo," both produced by Ernesto Alonso for Televisa. Ruffo continued working with Alonso for Televisa over the next two years, appearing in "Quiéreme siempre" and "En busca del paraíso." She went on to land her breakthrough role in 1983, starring opposite Guillermo Capetillo in "La fiera." The series ran for 230 episodes through 1984. Ruffo subsequently starred opposite Valentín Trujillo in "Juana Iris," which aired in 1985. Next, from 1987 to 1988, she starred opposite Juan Ferrara in "Victoria." Ruffo went on to star in "Simplemente María" from 1989 to 1990; her co-stars were Manuel Saval and Jaime Garza. After a short break from telenovelas, Ruffo returned in 1993 to star in "Capricho." Personal Life
In 1992, Ruffo married actor and comedian Eugenio Derbez. They had a son, José, before divorcing in 1997. José later became an actor like his parents. Ruffo wed her second husband, Mexican politician Omar Fayad, in 2001; he went on to become governor of Hidalgo in 2016. She also supported his successful senatorial campaign. Together, they have twins named Victoria and Anuar who were born on August 11, 2004.
