After graduating from high school he ran a ranch in Montana. He founded the company Welder Up to provide machinery and equipment for local farmers. Darnell customized a 1993 Dodge Sedan that was featured on Hot Rod magazine in 2008 and moved to Los Angeles, California. He relocated his company to Las Vegas, Nevada and has two sons that help him out with his business. The TV series Vegas Rat Rods debuted on the Discovery Channel in 2014.
