Early Life and Education

Christopher Briney was born on March 24, 1998 in Danbury, Connecticut to actor parents. He has a sister. As a teenager, Briney attended Waterbury Arts Magnet School and did a five-week intensive theater program at Wesleyan University. For his higher education, he attended Pace University in New York City, graduating in 2020 with his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in acting. While studying at Pace, Briney worked at a Trader Joe's.

The Summer I Turned Pretty

In 2022, Briney rose to fame as one of the three teenage leads of the Amazon Prime Video teen romance series "The Summer I Turned Pretty," based on Jenny Han's novel trilogy of the same name. He plays the moody and anxious Conrad Fisher, who is competing with his younger brother Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) for the affections of their mutual childhood friend Isabel 'Belly' Conklin (Lola Tung). Others in the cast include Jackie Chung, Rachel Blanchard, Sean Kaufman, Colin Ferguson, and Tom Everett Scott. Following the successful first season of the series, "The Summer I Turned Pretty" premiered its second season in 2023. Its third and final season premiered in 2025. The show was mostly well-received by critics and was very popular with audiences, particularly the demographic of women between the ages of 18 and 34.

Film Career

Briney made his film debut in the 2022 Salvador Dalí biopic "Dalíland," directed by Mary Harron and written by John C. Walsh. The film stars Ben Kingsley as the famous Spanish surrealist artist, with Briney playing his fictional young assistant who becomes part of his inner circle. "Dalíland" also features Barbara Sukowa, Ezra Miller, Rupert Graves, and Alexander Beyer, among others. Overall, the film was poorly reviewed by critics. Briney went on to appear in the film adaptation of the stage musical "Mean Girls," which itself was based on the 2004 film of the same name. Released in early 2024, it stars such actors as Angourie Rice, Reneé Rapp, Auli'i Cravalho, Jaquel Spivey, and Bebe Wood. Briney plays Aaron Samuels, the ex-boyfriend of Rapp's character Regina George and the love interest of Rice's character Cady Heron. Although critics gave it mixed reviews, the 2024 "Mean Girls" was a solid commercial hit, grossing around $105 million on a $36 million budget.

Stage Career

In 2025, Briney made his professional stage debut in Julia Randall's off-Broadway play "Dilaria." The dark comedy focuses on the titular woman, played by Ella Stiller, who descends into obsession following the viral death of a former classmate. Briney plays her love interest Noah.

Personal Life

In mid-2021, Briney began dating Isabel Machado, whom he had met when they were both studying acting at Pace University.
