Stelios Haji-Ioannou is a British entrepreneur of Cypriot descent who has a net worth of $1.05 billion. Aside from being the heir of a wealthy, ship-owning family, Stelios Haji-Ioannou is still best known for founding EasyJet, a low-cost airline, as well as the Stelmar shipping line. A self-proclaimed "serial entrepreneur", Stelios gets back to the billionaire rankings this year after a six-year hiatus thanks to a strong year in the airline business.
Last year, the number of EasyJet's passengers went up by 7% to around 60 million, leading to a subsequent 6% rise in revenues and helping push its shares up over 50%.
