What is Maria Ines de Lafuente Lacroze's Net Worth?

Maria Ines de Lafuente Lacroze was an Argentinian businesswoman who had a net worth of $1.2 billion at the time of her death in 2015. She was the only daughter and sole heir to Argentina's "cement lady" Amalia Lacroze de Fortabat. Being a daughter of one of the wealthiest and most powerful women in Argentina, Maria Ines de Lafuente inherited a cement empire that was founded back in 1926 by her stepfather (Amalia's second husband).

The cement company, Loma Negra, became the leader in production of cement and concrete in Argentina during the 1950s and '60s. After the death of Alfredo in 1976, Maria's mother succeeded the cement business and that's how she earned her nickname "cement lady." Unfortunately, due to family mismanagement and large foreign debt, Loma Negra had been sold to Brazilian group Camargo Correa for just over US$1 billion in May 2005. Nevertheless, the inheritance that Amalia Lacroze de Fortabat left after her death in February 2012, was estimated at U.S. $902 million, a number that does not include her art collection valued at more than $200 million. Maria Ines de Lafuente Lacroze died on September 11, 2015 .
