After he took his Bachelor's degree from Bombay University, he continued his studies at the University of Akron, where he finished his Master of Science degree in Polymer Science. It was in 1968 that he started his career at Asian Paint. Over the years, he climbed up the corporate ladder and acquired managing positions that let him assist the further expansion of the company.
