Andreas and Thomas sold Hexal and their 67.7% share of U.S. Eon Labs to Novartis for $7.5 billion. Since the sale the brothers have been investing in biotechnology and health companies which include a private bank Sudwestbank. They established a neuroscience research center in Frankfurt in 2008 named after their father Ernst Struengmann. Andreas Struengmann studied medicine in Freiburg and worked as a doctor in South Africa. He took an executive position at Sandoz which is a division of Novartis. Andreas lives in Tegernsee, Germany and is married with two children.
