Alberto Alcocer is a Spanish businessman and financier who has a net worth of $1.1 billion. Along with his cousin Alberto Cortina, Alcocer co-owns Alcor Holding, an investment company. It was his 50% stake in the company that secured him a place among billionaire this year. Together with Cortina, he also ran Construcciones y Contratas which is now called FCC.

Since Alcocer and Alcocer were married to the two daughters of FCC' founder, they controlled their wives' company from the early 1970s until both marriages ended in 1989. Next, Alcocer and Cortina moved to banking, running Banco Zaragozano. In 2004, they sold their mutual 40% stake to Barclays.
