Nishita Shah was born in India and is currently the largest individual shareholder and director of Precious Shipping, one of Thailand's largest dry-bulk shipping companies. Nishita's father, Kirit, founded the group in 1989 and took it public in 1993. Shah graduated from Boston University. She is a licensed pilot and the director of jet operator MJets, partly owned by Minor Aircraft. Nishita Shah's family also owns the Amari Atrium Bangkok Hotel.
Nishita owns a clothing company called Burn Baby. Nishita Shah has been named on the list of the 40 richest people in Thailand (ranked most recently at #30), a list compiled by U.S. business magazine Forbes. Forbes also goes on to say that the heiress, along with her father and brother, got a boost to her wealth of close to a $500 million following the November 2013 listing of her family's pharma unit Mega Lifesciences. Precious Shipping is also benefiting from an increase in freight rates. Nishita Shah (Federbush) married American businessman Maxwell Federbush and gave birth to her son, Janav Alexander.
