Mark Worman was born in Springfield, Oregon, and dropped out of school during high school. He began working in an auto-body shop when he was in his teens, and went on to launch his own business. He is known for his encyclopedic knowledge with regards to car parts and vehicle restoration. In 2010, he began working on the production of the pilot episode of a series that followed his shop as they restored a 1971 Plymouth Barrucuda.
The car had changed hands multiple times, and had gone through various repairs, some extensive, some merely cosmetic. The owner of the vehicle asked Mark Worman to restore it to its original glory. He documented the entire process and the research that went into it. That footage became the pilot for "Graveyard Carz", a reality series about his shop, Welby's Car Care, and the restoration and research performed there. The show is currently in its third season on the Velocity Channel.
