What is Fawn Hall's Net Worth?
Fawn Hall is a former secretary who has a net worth of $2 million. Fawn Hall earned a level of notoriety in the 1980s thanks to her role in the Iran-Contra affair. In what became an international scandal, it was revealed that Fawn helped her then-boss, Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North, alter and destroy classified documents from the White House. She testified against North and was given immunity. She then pursued a media career and, in a surprise twist, Fawn Hall and Oliver North got married in the summer of 2025.
Early Life and Education
Fawn Hall was born in 1959 in Annandale, Virginia. She attended Annandale High School, graduating in 1977. While still in high school, Hall had a part-time clerical job working for the United States Navy. After her graduation, she started working full-time for the Navy at the Pentagon.
Iran-Contra Affair
In early 1983, Hall became the secretary to Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North at the United States National Security Council. Her mother was a secretary to Robert McFarlane, Reagan's national security advisor and North's superior. Hall worked for North until late 1986, when they were both fired amid the Iran-Contra scandal. She had made some serious mistakes that compounded the scandal, such as when she transposed the digits of North's Swiss bank account number when trying to send a contribution from the Sultan of Brunei to the Contras. As a result, a Swiss businessperson suddenly ended up with $10 million more in their account and alerted authorities.
During North's trial for his role in the Iran-Contra affair, Hall admitted to helping him alter and destroy a plethora of confidential documents from the White House. There were reportedly so many documents destroyed that they jammed the shredder. Hall also testified that she had smuggled classified documents out of the Old Executive Office Building by hiding them in her boots and clothes and giving them to North. Notoriously, she stated that "sometimes you have to go above the law." In exchange for her testimony against North, Hall was granted immunity from prosecution.

After Iran-Contra
After the Iran-Contra affair broke to the public, Hall went back to work for the Navy for a while. Following her congressional testimony in mid-1987, she left the government and signed with the William Morris Agency to pursue a media career in the Washington, DC area. However, she was ultimately unable to find lasting success. In 1990, Hall did freelance reporting on television in Pittsburgh, and in 1992 she worked for a law firm in Los Angeles. She also did some modeling, and was offered six-figure payments by Playboy and Penthouse for nude photoshoots. Hall declined both offers.
Personal Life
Around the time of the Iran-Contra affair, Hall dated Nicaraguan Contra Arturo Cruz Jr. After that, she dated actor Rob Lowe, who tracked her down after seeing her testify in Oliver North's trial. Hall went on to date music manager Danny Sugerman, whom she married in 1993. They resided in the Hollywood Hills. Reportedly, Sugerman got Hall addicted to crack cocaine, and she had a non-lethal overdose on the drug in 1994. She subsequently went to rehab. Hall and Sugerman remained married until the latter's passing in 2005. Hall sold their home in 2014 for $1.96 million.
In the summer of 2025, Hall married her former boss Oliver North in Virginia.
