What is Eddie Guerrero's Net Worth?

Eddie Guerrero was an American professional wrestler who had a net worth of $1 million. A member of the legendary Guerrero wrestling family, Eddie Guerrero was best known for his time in World Championship Wrestling and the World Wrestling Federation/World Wrestling Entertainment. Among his numerous accomplishments, he won the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship, WCW Cruiserweight Championship, WWF European Championship, WWF Intercontinental Championship, four WWE Tag Team Championships, and the WWE Championship.

Early Life and Education

Eduardo Gory Guerrero Llanes was born on October 9, 1967 in El Paso, Texas to Herlinda and professional wrestling pioneer Gory. His older brothers — Chavo, Mando, and Héctor — all became professional wrestlers as well. After graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1985, Guerrero went to the University of New Mexico. He then transferred to New Mexico Highlands University on an athletic scholarship. Guerrero wrestled collegiately before dropping out due to an ankle injury. Afterward, he moved to Mexico to train as a professional wrestler.

Professional Wrestling Career, Part 1

Guerrero made his professional wrestling debut in 1986. At the end of the decade, he debuted in World Championship Wrestling as a jobber. In the early 1990s, Guerrero appeared in the Mexican promotions Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre and Asistencia Asesoría y Administración. At first, he teamed with El Hijo del Santo in AAA to form the new version of his father's tag team La Pareja Atómica. Guerrero then turned on Santo and formed the notorious La Pareja del Terror with Art Barr. He subsequently became part of the villainous Los Gringos Locos stable. Also in the first half of the 1990s, Guerrero started wrestling in Japan for New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

Guerrero had his breakthrough in American wrestling in 1995 when he joined Extreme Championship Wrestling and won the ECW World Television Championship in his debut match. Later in the year, he returned to World Championship Wrestling. In late 1996, Guerrero won his first WCW title, the United States Heavyweight Championship, by defeating Diamond Dallas Page. He lost the title to Dean Malenko at the 1997 Uncensored. That autumn, at Fall Brawl '97, Guerrero defeated Jericho to claim the WCW World Cruiserweight Championship. He lost the title at the end of the year to Último Dragón. From 1998 to 1999, Guerrero led the new stable the Latino World Order, and in 1999 he helped form the Filthy Animals. He left WCW in 2000.

Professional Wrestling Career, Part 2

After leaving WCW, Guerrero joined the World Wrestling Federation, then in its Attitude Era. With former WCW wrestlers Chris Benoit, Perry Saturn, and Dean Malenko, he formed the heel faction The Radicalz. In April of 2000, Guerrero defeated Jericho to win the WWF European Championship. Around this time, he picked up the gimmick of "Latino Heat." In late 2001, Guerrero was arrested for drunk driving and was released by the WWF. He subsequently returned to the independent circuit, appearing in World Wrestling All-Stars and winning the WWA International Cruiserweight Championship. About a week later, Guerrero won the IWA Mid-South Heavyweight Championship.

After a brief return stint in NJPW in the spring of 2002, Guerrero returned to the WWF and won the Intercontinental Championship by defeating Rob Van Dam. He then formed the tag team Los Guerreros with his nephew Chavo; they went on to win the WWE Tag Team Championship in 2003, four months after Guerrero won his first Tag Team Championship with Tajiri. In early 2004, Guerrero moved up to main event status and won the WWE Championship at No Way Out by defeating Brock Lesnar. In the process, he became a Triple Crown and Grand Slam Champion. Guerrero remained a popular main event star after that, continuing his notoriety as a face who cheated to win matches. He won his final title, a fourth WWE Tag Team Championship, with Rey Mysterio at the 2005 No Way Out.

Personal Life and Death

Guerrero was married to his wife Vickie from 1990 until his passing in 2005. She is a professional wrestler, as are the couple's two daughters, Shaul and Sherilyn. Guerrero had another daughter, Kaylie, during a separation from his wife.

Due to several injuries in the 1990s, including ones sustained from a car accident in 1999, Guerrero became addicted to painkillers and other substances. Following three drug overdoses, he went into rehab in the early 2000s. On November 13, 2005, Guerrero was found unconscious in his hotel room in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was pronounced dead from acute heart failure.
