What Is Achraf Hakimi's Net Worth and Salary?

Achraf Hakimi is a Spanish and Moroccan professional footballer who has a net worth of $40 million. Achraf Hakimi is a right-back for the Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain and the captain of the Morocco national team. He is considered one of the world's best right-backs. Hakimi spent his youth career with Colonia Ofigevi (2005–2006) and Real Madrid (2006–2016), and he began his senior career with Real Madrid in 2016. In 2018, he entered into a two-year loan deal with Borussia Dortmund and won the 2019 DFL-Supercup. Achraf then signed a €43 million deal with the Serie A club Inter Milan and helped them win the 2020–21 Serie A title. In 2021, he joined Paris Saint-Germain, signing a contract that was reportedly worth €68 million. As of this writing, Hakimi has won four Ligue 1 titles with Paris Saint-Germain, and he helped the club win its first UEFA Champions League title. He has also played for Morocco's national team in the FIFA World Cup (2018 and 2022) and Africa Cup of Nations (2019, 2021, and 2023) and was selected as an overage player for the 2024 Summer Olympics team. In the 2025 Ballon d'Or, Achraf was ranked #6, the highest ranking for a Moroccan player in the history of the award.

Early Life

Achraf Hakimi was born Achraf Hakimi Mouh on November 4, 1998, in Madrid, Spain. He is the son of Moroccan parents, street vendor Mohamed and homemaker Saida. Achraf was raised in Getafe, and his family dealt with economic challenges. When Hakimi was eight years old, he joined the football club Colonia Ofigevi. Soon after, he joined Real Madrid's youth academy, where he spent many years developing his skills. Achraf originally played as a winger, but he later switched to right-back.

Career

Hakimi made his Real Madrid debut in the 2016 International Champions Cup, then he went back to the B team and scored his first senior goal in September 2016. He was promoted to the main squad in August 2017 as a backup, and on October 1st, he made his first team and La Liga debut. Achraf scored his first goal in La Liga on December 1st, and in May 2018, Real Madrid won the 2017–18 UEFA Champions League title. This made him the first Moroccan player to win the European Cup/UEFA Champions League title. In July 2018, Hakimi entered into a two-year loan deal with the Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund, and in February 2020, he set a speed record for Bundesliga, 22.67 mph, during a match against Union Berlin. In a May 2020 win, he took his shirt off to reveal a shirt that said "Justice for George Floyd."

In July 2020, Achraf signed a five-year contract with the Serie A club Inter Milan that was worth a reported €40 million. A year later, he signed a five-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain, a Ligue 1 club, and the club reportedly paid a transfer fee of €60 million. Paris Saint-Germain won the Ligue 1 title during his first season with the club. In 2023, Hakimi earned a nomination for the FIFA FIFPRO World 11 and the African Footballer of the Year award. He was nominated for African Footballer of the Year again in 2024. In February 2025, Achraf extended his contract with Paris Saint-Germain until 2029. The club won the 2025 Coupe de France final and Champions League final, and Hakimi became the first Moroccan player to score in a European Cup/Champions League final.

Contracts, Salary & Career Earnings

After joining Inter Milan from Real Madrid in 2020 for around €40 million, he moved to Paris Saint-Germain the following year in a deal worth roughly €60 million. His current contract with PSG, extended through 2029, reportedly pays him about €13–14 million per year, or roughly €260,000 per week, before bonuses and endorsements. Over the course of his professional career, Hakimi has earned an estimated €50 million in base salary alone, placing him among the most financially successful full-backs in the sport.

Personal Life

Achraf is a Muslim, and he has performed the Umrah to Mecca several times. He speaks Darija (Moroccan Arabic), Spanish, English, and French. Hakimi married Spanish actress Hiba Abouk in 2020, and they welcomed two sons before divorcing in 2023. After the 2022 FIFA World Cup, a football stadium in Morocco was named after Achraf. That year he was also named Arab Sportsman of the Year at Saudi Arabia's Joy Awards. In March 2023, Hakimi was indicted in Paris and placed under judicial supervision after a 24-year-old woman accused him of rape. He was banned from contacting the woman, but he was allowed to leave French territory. Achraf's lawyer has said that his client denies the allegations.

"Pulling A Hakimi"

The viral story about Achraf Hakimi secretly placing all of his assets in his mother's name before filing for divorce is entirely false. The rumor first spread in 2023 on social media, claiming that his wife, actress Hiba Abouk, discovered during their divorce proceedings that Hakimi "owned nothing" because all his income and property were registered under his mother's accounts. The tale quickly became a viral meme known as "pulling a Hakimi," often shared as supposed proof of financial savvy. In reality, no credible evidence or legal record ever supported this claim, and multiple reputable outlets later debunked it. Hakimi's wealth and salary have always been paid directly to him through his professional contracts with clubs like PSG, and there is no public documentation suggesting that his assets were ever transferred to his mother.

Honours

Hakimi was named African Youth Player of the Year in 2018 and 2019 and Bundesliga Rookie of the Month in September 2018, November 2018, and December 2019.  He was selected for the Bundesliga Team of the Year for the 2019–20 season and the France Football Africa Team of the Year in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021. In 2022, Hakimi was selected for the IFFHS All-time Morocco Men's Dream Team. That year he also received the Order of the Throne, a state decoration the Kingdom of Morocco awards for civil or military distinguished services.
