What is Lincoln Riley's net worth and salary?

Lincoln Riley is an American football coach and former football player who has a net worth of $30 million. Lincoln Riley was the head coach of the Oklahoma Sooners from 2017 to 2021. In November 2021 he was hired to be the head coach of USC. His salary at USC is $11 million per year.

Lincoln Riley was born in Lubbock, Texas in September 1983. He was a quarterback who played at Texas Tech in 2002. Riley has coached under head coaches Mike Leach, Ruffin McNeill, and Bob Stoops. Riley coached at Texas Tech in various assistant positions including as a wide receivers coach from 2003 to 2009. From 2010 to 2013 he served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at East Carolina and in 2014 he was the school's assistant head coach as well. Riley was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Oklahoma from 2015 to 2016 and became the head coach at Oklahoma in 2017. He helped his team win the Big 12 Championship in both 2017 and 2018. Lincoln Riley won the Broyles Award in 2015. In 2018 he was named the Big 12 Coach of the Year and the AP Big 12 Coach of the Year.

Salary and Contracts

During his time at Oklahoma, Lincoln's highest annual salary was $4.8 million. He was operating under a six-year $45 million deal.

In November 2021 a random Twitter account claimed that Lincoln had signed an absolutely astonishing deal to become the coach of the USC Trojans. According to the tweet, the total deal value was $110 million with all bonuses and incentives. Furthermore, USC paid $500,000 over asking price for his two Oklahoma homes and agreed to buy him a $6 million home in Los Angeles. USC also supposedly give him unlimited use of the school's private jet:

Unfortunately it was soon clarified that none of the above claims were official and the Twitter user is not an recognized source of verified information. In reality, Lincoln's contract details may never be revealed since USC is a private institution. It is generally believed that USC would have been forced to pay Lincoln at least $4.5 million to buyout one year of his Oklahoma contract and his annual average salary is likely in the $8-10 million range.

Real Estate

In March 2022, Lincoln Riley reportedly paid $17.2 million for an ocean view mansion in Palos Verdes Estates, just south of Los Angeles.  The 13,000 square-foot mansion has 7 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms. The property spans a bit more than 3-acres:
