Eubank Jr. is the son of former two-division world champion boxer Chris Eubank Sr. Chris Sr. is best known for his bitter 1990s rivalry with Nigel Benn. Chris and Nigel fought twice in the 1990s. Their first fight took place on November 18, 1990, at the Neon, Birmingham, with the WBO middleweight title on the line. Early Life and Education
Chris Eubank Jr. was born on September 18, 1989, in Hove, East Sussex, England to Karron and professional boxer Chris Sr. As a youth, he attended Brighton College and Shoreham College in England before moving to the United States with his brother Sebastian. The boys lived in Nevada with a guardian named Irene Hutton. Eubank Jr. continued his education at Spring Valley High School in Las Vegas.
Amateur Career
In 2007, Eubank Jr. began his amateur boxing career. After winning his sixth fight, he became the Amateur Golden Gloves Champion for Nevada in his weight division. Following two more victories, Eubank Jr. was named the Amateur Golden Gloves Champion for the Western US in his division. He concluded his amateur career with a 24-2 record.
Professional Career, 2011-2017
Eubank Jr. turned professional in 2011. In his first professional fight, he defeated Kirilas Psonko by TKO. Eubank Jr. went on to win his next 17 consecutive matches, with 12 of them being TKO victories. In late 2014, in his 19th professional fight, he suffered his first loss, as he was defeated by Billy Joe Saunders by split decision after 12 rounds. Eubank Jr. fared better in his next fight, in early 2015, when he beat Dmitry Chudinov via TKO to claim the WBA interim middleweight title. The 12-round match gave Chudinov his first career loss. Eubank Jr. successfully defended his title against Tony Jeter later that year. However, after his win, he was stripped of the WBA interim middleweight title due to being inactive in his title defenses for too long. Eubank Jr. went on to win back the IBO super-middleweight title in early 2019 after defeating James DeGale by unanimous decision. At the end of the year, he returned to middleweight and won back the WBA interim middleweight title after beating Matt Korobov via TKO. Eubank Jr. didn't have another fight for 17 months.
