David Higgins started racing motorcycles at eight years old and competed on the UK national kart racing circuit at 10 years old where he won seven titles. David Higgins won his first rally car title the Peugeot Challenge in 1993. He went on to win the British Rally Championships in the Group N category in 1997, 1999, and 2002.
Higgins won the SCCA ProRally Championship in 2002 and 2003 and he received the Grassroots Motorsports Editors' Choice Award in 2003. Higgins won the 2004 Hyundai Accent WRC. He helped his team win titles in 2007 and 2009. Higgins joined Subaru Rally Team USA in 2011. He set a record up Mount Washington in a Subaru Impreza and has won eight Rally America championships.
