Early Life and Education

Pedro Scooby, whose real name is Pedro Henrique Mota Vianna, was born on August 10, 1988, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, into a wealthy family. Growing up, he was called Scooby because people thought he resembled the cartoon dog Scooby-Doo. He rode horses on his father's farm in Passos, Minas Gerais, and often went to Recreio Beach. Scooby was educated at Colégio Santo Agostinho in Barra da Tijuca.

Surfing Career

Scooby began surfing professionally when he was 11 years old. He went on to earn a reputation as one of the greatest big-wave surfers in Brazil. In 2010, he gained recognition when he rode a huge tube on the beach of Puerto Escondido in Mexico. The next year, Scooby attracted media attention for his daring surfing in Teahupoo, Tahiti, and received an XXL Award nomination for Ride of the Year. In 2012, he was named Best Freesurfer of the Year by Alma Surf Magazine and was given the Best Tube of the Year title by Fluir Magazine.

Reality Television

In 2014, Scooby began starring on the reality documentary television series "Pedro Goes to the Sea," produced for the Brazilian sports channel Canal Off. The series follows Scooby's daily life with an emphasis on his training and diet. It also includes testimonies from his family members and special appearances by various athletes, artists, and musicians. "Pedro Goes to the Sea" returned for a second season in 2016. Also that year, Scooby competed on the third season of the ornamental jump competition show "Saltibum." He was part of a team that also included Bruno Chateaubriand, Kayky Brito, and Naldo Benny. In 2017, Scooby competed on the reality show "Exathlon Brasil," where he was one of 20 contestants competing in a series of physical and mental challenges on a beach in the Dominican Republic. The cast was divided evenly into celebrities and anonymous players who signed up online. Scooby ended up coming in second place in the competition behind figure skater Marcel Stürmer.

In 2022, Scooby competed on "Big Brother Brasil 22," the 22nd season of "Big Brother Brasil." Comprised of both celebrities and regular civilians, the cast included Olympic track athlete Paulo André, actor and singer Douglas Silva, actress and model Jade Picon Froes, and singer-songwriter Naiara de Fátima Azevedo. On the show, which spanned 100 days of confinement for the housemates, Scooby was evicted on the 95th day in fifth place overall. The winner of "Big Brother Brasil 22" was actor and singer Arthur Aguiar. Being in the Big Brother house marked the longest period of time Scooby had been away from either the water or his family. After that experience, he began filming the documentary series "A Vida É Irada, Vamos Curtir!," about his childhood, family, and career ascendance. The four-episode program aired on Canal Off and Globoplay in September 2022.

Personal Life

In 2011, Scooby began a relationship with model, actress, and producer Luana Piovani. The pair married in 2013 and had three children: Dom and twins Bem and Liz. Scooby and Piovani divorced in March of 2019, and a few months later, Scooby began dating singer-songwriter and actress Anitta. They ended their relationship after a couple of months. Toward the end of 2019, Scooby started dating model and actress Cintia Dicker, whom he married in 2020. They had a daughter, Aurora, in late 2022.
