Armand Duplantis is a Swedish-American pole vaulter who has a net worth of $1 million. Widely considered the greatest pole vaulter of all time, Armand Duplantis has won numerous championships during his career, including multiple world outdoor and indoor titles and gold medals at the 2020 and 2024 Summer Olympics. At the latter, he set a new pole vaulting world record at 6.25 meters, which he then topped at the 2025 World Championships with 6.30 meters.
Early Life and Education
Armand Duplantis was born on November 10, 1999 in Lafayette, Louisiana into a family of athletes. His Swedish mother, Helena, is a former heptathlete and volleyball player, while his American father, Greg, is a former pole vaulter. He has two older brothers named Andreas and Antoine and a younger sister named Johanna, all of whom also became athletes. Duplantis attended Lafayette High School, where he set national freshman records in the pole vault both indoors and outdoors. He went on to attend Louisiana State University, where he set indoor and outdoor collegiate records, won indoor and outdoor SEC championships, and won the NCAA indoor title. Duplantis left LSU after this first year to turn professional.
Junior Career
Representing Sweden, Duplantis won his first junior title at the 2015 World Youth Championships. After winning bronze at the World Athletics U20 Championships in 2016, he claimed gold at the European Athletics U20 Championships in 2017, setting a new championship record of 5.65 meters. Duplantis bested that record with 5.82 meters in his victory at the 2018 World U20 Championships.
Professional Career
Duplantis won his first major senior title at the 2018 European Athletics Championships, where he set a new U20 record of 6.05 meters. At the age of 18, he became the youngest person ever to win a men's field event at the European Championships. Duplantis's next major titles came in 2020, culminating in his first World Athletics Indoor Tour title. He went on to have a strong year in 2021, beginning with a gold medal at the European Indoor Championships. In August, he won his first Olympic gold medal, and in September he claimed his first Diamond League title. Duplantis had an even greater year in 2022, winning the World Indoor Championships, the European Championships, the Diamond League, the World Athletics Indoor Tour, and his first World Championships. He broke numerous records at these events, and set a new world record of 6.21 meters at the World Championships.
At the All Star Perche indoor meeting in early 2023, Duplantis set another new world record, this time at 6.22 meters. That summer, he defended his world title at the World Championships. The next month, Duplantis broke his world record with a jump of 6.23 meters at the Prefontaine Classic. He continued his success in 2024, starting with his second career World Indoor Championships title. Duplantis went on to claim his third career European Championships title in June, setting a new record at that event at 6.10 meters. In August, Duplantis won his second Olympic gold medal. After already winning with a jump of 6.00 meters, he jumped 6.10 meters to set a new Olympic record, and then set a new world record by clearing 6.25 meters. Just weeks later, Duplantis improved that record by clearing 6.26 meters at the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial. He capped off his 2024 season with his fourth consecutive Diamond League title and the award for European Athlete of the Year.
Duplantis kept on breaking records in 2025. At the All Star Perche in February, he broke his own world record for the 11th time with a jump of 6.27 meters. The following month, Duplantis won his third World Indoor Championships title. Later, during the Diamond League competition in June, he set a new world record at 6.28 meters in Stockholm Olympic Stadium. With this victory, Duplantis became one of the greatest serial winners in Diamond League history. In August, he broke his own world record for the 13th time by clearing 6.29 meters at the Gyulai István Memorial. Toward the end of that month, Duplantis clinched his fifth consecutive Diamond League title. In September, he won his third career World Championships title with a jump of 6.15 meters. Duplantis then continued, setting a new world record at 6.30 meters. This was his fourth world record in 2025 alone, the most he had ever set in a single year.

Music Career
In early 2025, Duplantis ventured into the music world with the release of his first single, "Bop." Written with Emil Berg and Rasmus Wahlberg, the song was released under his nickname Mondo. Duplantis released his second single, "4L," in mid-2025.
Personal Life
Duplantis splits his time between summers in Uppsala, Sweden and winters in Louisiana. In 2024, he got engaged to Swedish model Desiré Inglander, whom he had met at a midsummer party in Sweden in 2020.
