Alvin Patrimonio was born in Quezon City, Philippines in November 1966. Patrimonio is nicknamed "The Captain" and "Captain Lionheart". He played professionally for the Philippine Basketball Association's Purefoods Star Hotshots from 1988 to 2004. Alvin holds many PBA records including the most consecutive games played at 596, the third most points scored in history, the fourth most rebounds in history, and the most PBA Most valuable Player awards at four. He became the second player to win back-to-back MVP awards in 1993 and 1994. He was also the second player to win three Best Player of the Conference awards. During his career Patrimonio was named 10 times to the PBA Mythical First Team and once to the PBA Mythical Second Team. He was named the PBA Press Corps Newsmaker of the Year in 1993 and was the PBA All-Star Game Most Valuable Player in 1991. Patrimonio was a 13 time PBA All-Star and has been named as one of the PBA's 25 Greatest Players and was part of the 1998 Philippine Centennial Team. He now serves at the Head Manager of his former team the San Mig Super Coffee Mixers.
