He was born at 1112 North J Street in Tacoma, Washington on 3rd May 1903. His family later migrated to Spokane, Washington in 1906. A house was built by his father at 508 E. Sharp Ave in 1913. He emerged as a leader in record sales, motion picture grosses and even radio ratings between 1934AD to 1954AD. Since his early career progressed during the era of technical recording innovations, it had the consequent impact on him to have laid-back singing style. His singing style influenced many artists later.
