Even if he loses, though, Mayweather will come out as a winner.
Mayweather will make $100 million from the fight – at the absolute minimum. If he reaches certain monetary levels, Mayweather could make up to $400 million.
That's according to information from Boxing Kingdom, which pulls preliminary purse amounts for fights. While the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) will release the preliminary purse numbers before the bout, those figures only include the baseline.
The NSAC will calculate PPV, gate percentages, and additional bonuses after the fight.
If Mayweather makes $279 million or more from the match, he'll be the first fighter in history to earn more than $1 billion in the ring. It's enough money to retire and set up his family for life.
Not bad for a guy whose net worth was only around $5 million just a decade ago.
