See The Beverly Hills Mega-Mansion Currently On The Market For $80 Million

Get out your checkbook: A sprawling 28,000-square-foot residence has just made a big appearance on the Beverly Hills real estate market.

With a $80 million asking price, this French chateau-inspired home is one of the most expensive – and one of the largest – currently on the market in the United States.

The mansion is being sold by current owner Albert Elkouby, the CEO of JH Design, an apparel company JH Design that produces branded jackets for the NFL, NBA and Nascar. Elkouby originally purchased the 11-bedroom, 18-bathroom home, which sits on 1.54 acres, in 2008.

Two years ago, the residence was listed for $72 million in an unfinished state, but failed to sell. In turn, the listing was taken down and the home and its landscape were finally made complete.

"For two years, we just worked on the details," said Elkouby's daughter, Vered Nisim. "Every wall, floor, molding in there is hand-cut. Just to do the wood floor in the ballroom took a good five to six months, because it's all hand-carved. We put, I would say, over $5 million in just some of the additional finishes."

Sam Real of Nest Seekers International holds the listing.
