Getty III's net worth was $2 billion when he died. When Getty III was just 16 years old he was kidnapped and held for 5 months until his family finally paid the ransom. It wasn't until after the kidnappers sent a sliced piece of his ear to an Italian newspaper did his father agree to the ransom.
