The Top 100 Cumulative NBA Salaries Of All Time

By on June 2, 2013 in ArticlesEntertainment

If you want to make a ton of money playing a sport professionally, you should definitely consider becoming an NBA star. Not only do basketball players get paid some of the largest annual salaries in all of professional sports, all of their contracts are 100% guaranteed. That means even if you get injured on opening day, you still get paid 100% of your money. Another reason basketball is a great sport for making tons of money is the fact that NBA players tend to have much longer careers than other sports. First off, if you're talented enough the NBA will allow you to go pro right out of high school. Players like Kevin Garnett, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James all turned pro before they celebrated their 18th birthdays. That wouldn't be allowed in the NFL. Jason Kidd, Grant Hill and Juwan Howard were all turned pro in the first round of the 1994 draft, which means next season will be their 20th consecutive year in the NBA! So which players have earned the most money cumulatively in the history of the National Basketball League. If you guessed Michael Jordan, you are wrong. Jordan is not even in the top 10. In fact, he barely even cracks the top 100! LeBron James isn't in the top 20, but he likely still has at least two big contracts left in his career. Do you think he'll be #1 some day?

It should be noted that some of the salaries listed below include money for seasons that have not been played yet. Since all contracts are guaranteed, the money technically can be counted now. We would also like to remind you that Allen Iverson, who is the 20th highest paid player of all time with salary north of $150 million, is now flat broke.
