The video made its debut at the Billboard Music Awards and cemented Swift's transition from country crooner to pop princess. In fact, the entire video is a throwback to the early days of music videos when their premieres were a big deal. The video for Bad Blood is an action packed mini-movie that appears to be based on movies like "Kill Bill" and "Sin City."
With lyrics like: "Oh, it's so sad to think about the good times, you and I. 'Cause, baby, now we got bad blood. You know it used to be mad love. So take a look what you've done. 'Cause, baby, now we got bad blood, fans are wondering just who Taylor is singing about. It could be one of her many ex boyfriends of course, but that isn't the prevailing theory. Rumors are circulating that the real inspiration for Bad Blood is Katy Perry. The two singers have been embroiled in a well-documented feud for quite some time. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Swift admitted that the song was about a frenemy, saying:
"For years I was never sure if we were friends or not. She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, "Are we friends or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?"
Swift's besties Lena Dunham, Karlie Kloss, and Cara Delevinge appear in the video alongside Ellen Pompeo and Mariska Hargitay. That isn't as weird and random as it seems though. Swift's cats are named after Pompeo's character on "Grey's Anatomy" and Hargitay's character on "Law and Order: SVU."
