What are the 10 most expensive celebrity divorces?  Divorce, no matter how amicable it is, is always very difficult.  For people with a large amount of money, property, and other assets, it can drag on for months and years, as lawyers and mediators parcel out the various parts of the former couple's estate.  For celebrity couples, this process of dividing assets often happens in full view of the public, as various news outlets report on who won the villa in Tuscany, or the ski lodge in Tahoe, or the house in the Hills. These assets have resulted in this list of the most expensive celebrity divorces. Often, when it is clear that one half of the couple supported the career ascension of the other half, a large amount of money is passed from one party to another.  Other times, both halves of the couple are successful in their own right, and the divorce proceedings can devolve into a war of wills.  Over the years, some celebrity divorces have resulted in record-breaking settlements.  Some ex-spouses have walked away with the equivalent of the GDP of a small country.  Here are ten of the most expensive celebrity divorces to date.
