The 10 Most Expensive Bottled Waters

By on May 11, 2012 in ArticlesEntertainment

It's a common complaint that bottled water is too expensive. But paying 99 cents for a bottle of something that comes out of the tap seems like a great investment compared to these extravagant bottled waters. They range in price from just under 10 dollars per bottle to as much as $60,000. In some cases the consumer is paying more for the bottle than the water (in fact, this is probably the case most of the time). There aren't a lot of blind bottled water taste tests out there, but who knows? Maybe these 10 most expensive bottled waters are worth the money.

Bottled water has been around for decades, but it wasn't until the last 20 or so years that it really began to take off. According to statistics, the amount of bottled water purchased worldwide expanded dramatically around 1990. Now, 22 years later, you can find myriad varieties of bottled water in pretty much every grocery store, convenience store, and gas station in America, and no one really makes much of it. There is a small contingent of people who still refuse to drink the stuff, for either financial or other reasons, but these hold-outs are in a sharp minority.

Still, even the most committed bottled water fans would probably scoff at these bottles of water, most of which are expensive for cosmetic rather than chemical reasons. The bottles look nice, but the water inside could be anything from distilled tap water to drinking water melted from a ten thousand year old glacier or collected from the bottom of the ocean.
