Cats are supposed to have nine lives, right? Well I hope their bank accounts also have nine figures! Because if not, how else is Taylor Swift's cat gonna pay the $40 million worth of damages she just caused the pop superstar…
Earlier this week it was reported that Taylor Swift had taken out a $40 million insurance policy on her legs. The leg insurance was first reported by The National Enquirer, which claimed: "It seems like a ludicrous sum, but if something was to happen to her legs, Taylor wouldn't be able to give her signature stage performances. Her $200 million career would be in big trouble."
And it wouldn't exactly be the first time a celebrity has insured a body part. David Beckham took out a policy that would pay him $151 million in the event something happened to his legs. Jennifer Lopez famously insured her booty for a reported $27 million. Kyle Minogue insured her booty for $5 million. Holly Madison insured her breasts for $1 million. Julia Roberts insured her smile for $30 million.
So it really wouldn't be inconceivable for Taylor Swift to insure her legs for $40 million.

What does Taylor's cat Meredith have to do with this? Well apparently, last night, Meredith decided to claw Taylor's famous gams. She left a couple pretty solid scratches, to the point where Taylor posted a photo with the following caption on Instagram:
"GREAT WORK MEREDITH. I WAS JUST TRYING TO LOVE YOU AND NOW YOU OWE ME 40 MILLION DOLLARS"
I hope that cat has some deep pockets and a good lawyer!
