Taylor Swift, who was born in Pennsylvania, and moved to Nashville at the age of 14, appears to be far from a city girl. But as evidenced by her latest real estate purchase, the "Shake It Off" singer has a thing for living in the Big Apple.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, Taylor Swift is the new owner of a 3,540 square foot property at 155 Franklin Street in Manhattan. The property, which is a second-floor apartment, was purchased in an off-market deal for $9.75 million, and is the singer's third purchase on the same block.
She previously purchased the top floor penthouses at 155 Franklin Street for $19.95 million in 2014, and a three-story townhouse right next to it, at 153 Franklin Street for $18 million in September of last year. Swift combined the two top floor units at the 155 Franklin Street property, which she purchased from director Peter Jackson, to create a monster, 8,000 square foot penthouse duplex.
Swift has now dropped nearly $50 million on the swanky Tribeca block, where she is neighbors with the likes of Aziz Ansari, who purchased his $5.7 million unit last year. Actor Orlando Bloom and director Steven Soderbergh are former residents of the building.
What exactly does the "Bad Blood" singer plan on doing with the 3 properties? According to the Daily Mail, she may end up connecting the properties, and even build a garage so that she can come in and out of her house without drawing the attention of the paparazzi.
