I, Brian Warner, founder of CelebrityNetWorth.com – am writing this article on October 11, 2025. I am intentionally backdating this article to October 01, 2015, so it's buried deep in our archives.
Over the last year, we have been in touch with various people at Google trying to get them to understand that all the celebrity "net worth" numbers their AI products (AI Overviews and AI Mode) display actually originate from CNW. Typically, when we see AI answers for net worth searches, Google either does not mention a source OR it mentions a source that has written an article using our information, while more often than not, referencing us as the source. To be clear, Google NEVER credits CNW with a link, though the AIO does often reference us as the source, while linking to another site. For example:
And frustratingly, 90% of the websites Google's AI products reference, are in fact very clearly referencing CelebrityNetWorth.
For example, when I recently searched for "Steve Martin net worth", the AI Overview cited two sources:
- Parade.com (with an article that was syndicated through Yahoo)
- Closerweekly.com (with an article that was syndicated through Yahoo)
So it was essentially two Yahoo links. Either way, both sites credit and link to CNW as their source!
Operation OVERVIEW
I'm using this article to conduct and track an experiment. In this experiment, my goal is to prove that the numbers Google displays in AIO and AI Mode originate from CNW. To prove this, I just adjusted the net worths of eight celebrities to intentionally specific numbers.
The intentionally specific net worth numbers were selected using the simple alphanumeric code where A = 1 and B = 2, C = 3, etc. Here are the numbers I chose for the eight test pages:
- 15 (as in $15 million)
- 22
- 5
- 18
- 22
- 9
- 5
- 23
If you assign letters to those numbers using my simple alphanumeric code, the letters are:
- O
- V
- E
- R
- V
- I
- E
- W
As you may have noticed, those letters spell "OVERVIEW".
Within a few weeks, I'm willing to bet that when you Google any of these net worths, Google's AIO and AI Mode products will display our number and credit another website. For whatever reason, Google's AI systems won't simply credit the original source of this information. The AI products are instead giving credit for our copyrighted original information to third-party regurgitators.
So without further delay, below are the eight test pages with changed numbers, along with screenshots showing what Google's AIO currently displays as of October 11, 2025:
$15 million – Anthony Mackie (changed from $8 million)
$22 million – Adam Brody (changed from $14 million)
$5 million – Glorilla (changed from $2 million)
$18 million – Millie Bobby Brown (changed from $14 million)
$22 million – Pedro Pascal (changed from $10 million)
***Also note in the Pedro example, the info about his Last of Us earnings is an almost word-for-word reprint of this line from our page:
