Last night at the 86th Oscars, Ellen took an impromptu selfie with a bunch of the biggest celebrities from the front few rows of the theater. She posted the selfie on Twitter and within a few minutes caused so much traffic that Twitter actually temporarily broke down. Before the Oscar broadcast was over, the photo had broken the world record for most retweets ever. As of this writing, the photo has been retweeted 2,789,619 times and has been favorited by 1,452,922 people. That absolutely demolishes the previous retweet record holder, Barack Obama, whose "Four more years" tweet with a photo of the President hugging Michelle on November 6, 2012 was retweeted 781,731 times.
