Actor Robert Downey Jr. and his on-screen alter ego, Iron Man, certainly have one thing in common: their zip codes. Recent property records show that a limited liability company tied to the actor bought a Malibu home for $3.8 million last month.
The 3,384-square-foot single-story residence was built in 1972. Its features include three bedrooms and three bathrooms, along with an open floor plan, beamed ceilings and a fully-updated kitchen with a center island. Floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall glass doors spanning from the living room to the balcony provide immense views of the Pacific Ocean.
As for the home's exterior, the outdoor living space is extended by verandas facing the water. And that's certainly not all – a black-bottomed swimming pool, spa, cabana, putting green and detached garage also sit on the 1.3-acre lot.
The property was originally listed in early May for $3.95 million and was closed in less than a month. The listing agent was Paul Grisanti of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, and Hilton & Hyland's Judy Feder represented the buyer.
Earlier this year, the 52-year-old actor and his wife, Susan, reportedly scooped up a historic East Hampton home for $10.5 million.
