Reese Witherspoon's Home: The Perfect Estate for the Perfect Woman

By on February 1, 2012 in ArticlesCelebrity Homes

Reese Witherspoon is one of those actresses that is able to keep herself, and family, together, focused, and appropriate.  Even when she was going through a divorce, and the fall-out that occurs from any separation of lives and assets, she seemed able to keep her personal problems largely separate from her public persona.  In addition to a steady stream of commercially and critically successful films, and multiple awards – including an Oscar, the 30-something actress has emerged as one of Hollywood's most fashion-forward actresses, and has recently been seen rocking the Red Carpet in some stunning dresses.  Her excellent taste in roles and her sense of style, have kept her in the headlines more than anything going on in her personal life.  With the opening of her latest film, "This Means War", she has everyone's attention again.  Her reputation for good taste extends to her home as well.  In 2010, she purchased a stunning property in Ojai, California that is an absolute reflection of her personality – bright, airy, and practical.

Purchased for $6.9 million from the estate's previous owner, interior designer Kathryn Ireland, the beautiful home was designed in the 20s as a barn.  It was renovated multiple times to become the palatial living space that it is today.  The home sits on six acres, and houses four bedrooms, a large swimming pool, high ceilings, a guesthouse, stable, a massive fireplace, and an open plan kitchen, among other features.  Ms. Witherspoon was recently married to agent Jim Toth on the property, and it seems like everything is settling into place nicely for the accomplished actress from Louisiana.
