The Queen's official residence is Buckingham Palace, and the Queen also resides at Windsor Castle. Buckingham palace retains the original early 19th-century interior designs. Buckingham Palace remains a symbol and home of the British monarchy, and serves as an art gallery and tourist attraction. Queen Elizabeth's private residences are at Sandringham House, in Sandringham, Norfolk, and Balmoral Castle, Scotland.
