The double-edged sword of fame must be quite familiar to Kristen Stewart. Though she has been appearing in movies since she was a child, and had already earned rave reviews for her work in projects like, "Panic Room" and "Speak", it was not until she was cast as Bella Swan in the "Twilight" franchise, that she became a total superstar. Though the quality of her performance as Bella has divided fans and critics wildly, there is no denying that the role has made her a household name and drastically changed her life. Professionally, it has meant that she can take on more interesting roles, like her recent performances in "The Runaways" and "Welcome to the Rileys". Now that the series has completed filming, she has already generated buzz with upcoming roles in such projects as "Snow White and the Huntsman" and "On the Road". Personally, it has meant that she and her costar/boyfriend, Robert Pattinson, very rarely get any downtime or privacy. They are relentlessly scrutinized, reported on, blogged about, and interviewed, and fans follow their every move. So, it would only make sense that the two actors would look for someplace out of the public eye to live. For a few months last summer, the two actors rented a Bel Air mansion tucked away in the hills that was nearly impossible to get to unless you went up the clearly visible winding driveway, or scaled a rather steep flower-covered reservoir face. They put the house back on the market during the winter, and it went on sale for double the price for which it was originally listed.
The property that overlooks the Stone Canyon Reservoir is 2,604 square foot and is made up of three bedrooms and two bathrooms, a pool, spa, gazebo, laundry room, a large living room, a massive kitchen, stunning windows that take up entire walls in every room, a 1,440 square foot guesthouse with two bedrooms and an additional bath, a terrace, a wrap around deck on the second floor, a media room, high ceilings, and hardwood floors. The property originally sold for $2.95 million and they rented it for $22,500 per month. After moving out, it went back on the market for $5.995 million. Apparently, the new price, is the "Twilight" inflation rate.
